Packaging Issues with GW

Actually what is annoying me the most about the 40k is the packaging of the minis themselves. If you elect not to buy individual model bits from GW mail order, you will end up buying more models than you actually need, thus driving up the cost.

For example, a friend of mine plays Guardsmen and he needs 4 models for what he has in mind. Unfortunately, he can't buy the 4 guardsmen he wants, since they only come in a box of 20.

Another example, the Space Marine Dreadnought (sp?), it comes with only *some* of its listed weapon loadouts. If you want the Assault Cannon option for example, you'll have to order it separatly from another company (Forgeworld).

Yet another example is the WitchHunter army list, whereas if you want to kit out a squad of Battle Sisters (Nuns with guns) with more than one Storm Bolter, you need to buy at least 2 blisters of Sisters with Assault weapons since in each blister contains 2 sister models with either a Storm Bolter, meltagun or flamer (http://ca.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.ca?do=Individual&code=99060108057&orignav=10) which are not interchangeable! (The weapons are part of the model, not separate from the main body.)

And you can go on like this forever. And lets not mention the 10-15% price hikes that occur regularly. I bought an above mentionned Dreadnought two years ago at around CAN$45, now it sells at CAN$55, for the same plastic model! 22% more!

So, as a result of the company's creative packaging and pricing policies, I've adopted Warmachine and Heavy Gear as my skirmish games of choice.

(BTW Sorry for the scattershot format of the above, english isn't my first language, and items kept popping into my head, hope the post is clear enough)
