Converted from Phorums BB System
Sorry Dion - it was certainly not my intention to cast doubt on your writing ability.
This is well written stuff but I genuinely don't believe it works as a 'review'. After reading it I couldn't make a buying decision (and that's what I look for in a review) because you didn't give me any information about the game other than it's physical components.
I couldn't locate the relevant RPG.net thread and the publisher's site is equally secretive about its product.
Is it a nod towards the original D&D? If so does that mean it's poorly written and generally unplayable? The publisher's site describes the game as a rules-lite rpg. Dan makes an unexplained reference to a unique game system 'Seige Engine'. I don't know what it is or whether I would like it.
I'm trying to be objective and constructive in my criticism: To make this review work I firmly believe you need to slot in sections covering character generation, magic use, combat and an overall assessment of the game type - is it intended for long-term play or as relief between 'serious' games?
Cheers
Mike
