Is the Seven what Assamites were supposed to be at one time? I don't play much Vampire, but I recall reading that the first Assamite was born (to cut it short) from a desire to fight vampires with their own strengths. There's a perfectly good theme there: becoming a beast to fight another beast.

To credit the reviewer, though: if it's only page page write-up, it's not enough to explain the concept if you weren't thinking about it already. And to make it workable for player characters, it would definitively need more space to explain the possibilities (which is probably why they are NPC-only).
