I'm sure nobody's reading this anymore, but I just wanted to say that the Clans from VtR are much like Races in D&D, making the Clanless virtually impossible to explain, since all Vamps have a sire. I never really did *get* the Caitiff, because if you're bitten by a Ventrue and he shuns you and sends you away, aren't you still a Ventrue? That's another thing VtR fixed for ya, adding a tad of logic.
