RE: How 'obsolete' are 3e rules books?

Quoted from www.sjgames.com/gurps:

"Of course, the very "crunchy" rulebooks, such as the old Basic Set itself, the two Compendium volumes, and GURPS Vehicles, are outdated. There's no way around that; that's the point of a new edition."

If you want to get more info about what has changed, and how your 3e books are affected, download this pdf, also linked from sjgames.com:

POSTSCRIPT: I love the update, but not the format. The books seem to be cheaply made (after a week of perusal, pages started falling out), and the high-gloss paper they are printed on absorbs humidity from the air very quickly. I live in Florida, and on summer days, the pages crinkled as they absorbed moisture from the air. I would have preferred the old paperback all black-and-white format to this.
