About being on the same page, I was making an allusion to horror novels and GM perspective. To be clear I meant that most GMs are still getting the same "sex is bad in games" message they always have been gettinhg.
---------------

Again, then they either shouldnīt try it or should only try it with the people who want to do so. I donīt really see your point.

---------------
I trying to point out that the odds are against it with the number of people involved. NOT that it can't be done, it just takes more time (to find and weed out wrong players) and screening of new players if this is what you want to do.
---------------

Which is true for pretty much anything. The larger the number of persons involved the lower the chance to get EVERYONE on the same page. If I want to play Nobilis next week, Iīd have to find new players for it, 'cause most of my current ones either have no intention of learning about the game (which Iīm too lazy to teach them. I mean, itīs a really BIG book. and probably arenīt interested in the games premise. *shrug*

Your absolutely correct. But MOST companies don't. Let me give an example; Guardians of Order, on their ML several years ago, the subject came up about writers submissions. Mark Mckinnon stated specifically that GoO was not interested in any hentai, or naughty tentacle supplements. Now think about it. Hentai stuff isn't the biggest thing in the anime market but it is not small and many anime fans would identify it. GoO still won't do it. Why? They've got the support, the got the fanbase and they certainly are willing to captilize on d20 and even made a Pet Monster book whose introduction talked about fears of "selling out".

Well, there IS a distinction between having sex and sexuality matter in your game, and running/playing a PORN game. While porn is certainly nice and usefull for the things its made to do, itīs not really full of narratively interesting stuff. A Hentai game would be something like "Big Breasts, Small Waist", a self-proclaimed "Hentai Roleplaying Game" findable on the web somewhere. This is a true porn rpg, in which the actual act of sexual intercourse is the focus and the point of the game. Character creation, resolution rules and even the character advancement rules are built to make this possible. Of course, itīs also done in jest, or at least I think so. This really is a game that centers on SEX as an act. (It even has experience multipliers for things like "Rape" and "Virgin".) Basically, itīs everything people think when they hear about "sex in roleplaying game", but thats just a fringe element of it. Few people want their game to center around the physical act of penetrating another living beings orifice and this isnīt what I and the other "Defendants" of the BoEF are talking about. The BoEF isnt "BBSM", its not a porn game.

Simply the reluctance a GM and player have at the game level translates to the designer level as well. The horror stories that even you must have heard, have saturated the subconcious of the gaming community making sexually explicit gaming more difficult by causing mature adult gamers to simply avoid the subject and leaving it for the players who would create more horror stories.

I'm not saying it can't be done, it's just difficult enough(playerwise, GMwise) to simply avoid it and altogether.
-----------

Why? Just because it isnīt for everyone doesnīt mean its not for THIS group. I donīt know about your group, but I prefer to play with open-mined people who are willing to look beyond stupid gamer legends. As Iīve said above, as long as everyone is on the same page, no problems should arise, and I donīt see why stories about a stupid character raping GM or some other "@!#$-Up" should make it any harder to include sexuality in a game with my friends. They are people who trust me and I trust them, and IMO that should be the case in every gaming group. Sure, romance in Roleplaying may not be for your group. but thats about it: Your group.
