The real problem with this, would be, that all the characters have to coordinate to stop the traitor usually.
We've never had the problem some people have here, with the Traitor having an unfair position. In the maybe 12 times we've played, the Heroes have one only twice. Both times were due to lucky rolls, and both times only one Hero was alive. Monsters in many of the scenarios we've played, if they gang up, can kill even a buffed character in a single round.
Plus, part of looking up which scenario to play gives you who the Traitor is. Many times it says "person with the highest X stat" or such, so everyone has to tell what their stat is to find who plays the Traitor. Add to this that the Heroes have to read their own book on how to win the scenario, which gives away who the Traitor is . . .
