I didn't say that faith stuffs up an adventure, I said that it makes a game involving investigation unplayable. That's not stuffing up the adventure, that's not experiencing the adventure at all.
As for having fun, some people have fun by trying to accomplish something. If that's not the way you approach gaming, that's fine, but I don't think you should try to impose your preferences on others by advocating elements in game design that would make it impossible for them to have fun their way.
