<i>You started with the statement that "Faith doesn't belong in horror games."</i>

Actually I started with the statement:
"Following on from <i>Call of Cthulhu,</i> most horror games are run
as investigations. [...] Player characters in horror games -- or at
least in those games which have an investigative component -- need
to be contingent thinkers, ready to revise opinions and knowledge in
the light of new evidence. As such, faith -- the ability to believe
things to be the case without evidence, or even despite the evidence
-- would seem to be a seriously counter-productive trait."
As you can easily determine by checking the first post in this thread.

<i>Now you are arguing that faith doesn't directly advance the investigation of investgation games.</i>

First, that's what I've been saying all along. What was it that Kyle Schuant said in one of his posts? Oh, yes: "you're not reading what [I'm] writing" (changed "we're" to "I'm" since I'm not royalty).

<i>This last point I happily concede. Neither does clothing, nor firearms, nor friendship, yet all these can be useful during an investigation in their own ways.</i>

None of those make investigation impossible by pre-empting the solution.
I was willing to be convinced that I may be wrong about this, which is why I asked several times for someone to give me an example of how faith can be used to advance an investigation. Instead, after twenty-odd posts, you concede the point.
Well, thank for that. It's very gracious of you. Much more gracious than many others I've interacted with.
