However the game covers a niche genre, or more precisely it comes close to creating a niche genre as I am not certain I’ve seen any other games that blend quite the same historical and cinematic tropes together. I could be wrong, but in many respects Pulp-Fu appears to take familiar genre elements and spin them into something unique.

I think that the White Wolf game Adventure! actually operates in the same area as Pulp-Fu, in particular combining Pulp and Noir with a more modern, cinematic action orientation (i.e, Indiana Jones as a primary source of ideas).
I think one RPG.NET reviewer criticized Adventure! for this, saying that it confused 'cinematic' with 'pulp'.
I think Adventure! also (being a modern game) emphasized the high flying martial arts aspect of the Far East more than the source material did. The Pulp era Far East is a great setting for martial arts adventures, of course, but writers of the time had no access to Jackie Chan and Jet Lee films to provide them with imagery, so they focused on other esoteric secrets of the Orient, such as fiendish torture, drugs and hypnotism.
