I think that the mistake gamers/GMs make is that they inherently assume the game can *ONLY* be played to the game universe as dictated/directed by the game manufacturer. If you are like me, and don't like to play the "cannon-fodder led by Superman", simply stick in a house rule that removes these uber-characters.

Unfortunately, most 15-year-old gamers are of the "My Kharn is bigger and badder than your Kharn", only because they may not fully appreciate tactical gaming.

You will simply need to find other gamers who share your tactics-enhanced gaming style.
