If my intital submission was not satisfactory, you could have at least dropped me a line saying so and provided me the chance to rewrite it. This was my FIRST review after all, and I obviously needed some feedback. Not sending a "rejection" message for the article when you decided not to publish it forments the appearence of "selective" publication of only positive reviews. Being "rejected" is a lot better than being IGNORED. As for missing my emails, the subject line clearly spelled out that this was regarding a submitted review with the assigned review number prominately displayed. I could see one or even two messages being bulk deleted in your "email swamp", but three messages missed seems a bit "fishy" to me. It's too bad the only way to get a response from you is to stir up trouble on the review forums. Perhaps you should have better submission guidelines, a separate email account regarding those submissions, and a standard "rejection" procedure allowing an author the opportunity for rewrites. Until then, the specter of impropriority remains.
