I got the game, based largely on your review, and I would have to agree that you are right in your praise.

The only change I would make is giving it a substance of 4. Although it is chock full of crunchy goodness, it seems to only skim the surface on a lot of interesting topics. For instance, the list of demons is quite short, magic is given short shrift as is the spell list, demon powers are also given a short list. Generally, the book says in these instances that the material presented is inspiration for the GM to come up with stuff, or there are other books out there/coming out soon (it heavily hints at an expanded demon book).

This is not a deal-breaker in any since, you can only put so much into a book. Also, it clearly labels itself a "core" book, which means of course that it plays better with additional books.

Still, this is a very good game. The book itself is beautiful, one of the best produced rpg products I own. The writing is also excellent, making this a product that is fun to read, even if never played.

Thanks for the excellent review. When/if supplements come out for this game I will be first in line to purchase them.
