As stated in a previous thread, I believe that one of the most important layout change is to do a table for each class listing all of their abilities per level.

Its not without reasons that almost all d20 products have them. It makes it very easy to analyse a class at a glance and to create an npc on the spot... something particularly important for a game that wants to be fast and easy, with reduced prep time.
