Not overlooking it at all Yamo. Everyone has certain things they like about roleplaying. If immersing yourself in a character and step by step uncovering what the GM has in store for you is what trips your trigger great. Uni is definitely not for you, because it does very little of that.

But that's not what Paul's comment was about, or my response to Jim. That was about the notion that without a GM, players will lack direction and won't know what to do, so you need a GM there to guide things along.

And that notion is quite obviously not a canard because Jim promptly indicated his idea that notion IS in fact exactly what will happen without a GM.

So you're talking about something different entirely from what this thread was started about, and I don't disagree with what you've said at all. Uni doesn't do what you describe well.
