I have a pretty obscure lciense myself coming up, in the form of Bill Holbrook's webcomic "Kevin & Kell". Although I did not pay $3,000 for the license, it was a signficiant investment based on the resources I had available. And remember, licensors also get a percentage.

The advnatge foe my purposes that there was a built-in fanbase for the game (which is not yet out) and the art was basically already prepared.
