Yes, medieval society could support grand conspiracies. Crusader knights belonged to various sects that all had their own agenda. Knights Templar and the Hospitalers are a couple of examples.
Powerful families also hatched plenty of plots that affected Europe at the time. It's a little late for the time, but Alexander Borgia becoming pope and his resulting machinations are an example.
In the upper strata of society, there was enough interconnectivity through marriage, business relations, and war that plenty of schemes could be plotted.
