Actually YES I did own an OD&D set (sans the box) oh the art was bad, and the rulebook used terms like hobbit, and suggested you buy a copy of outdoor survival by Avalon hill for maps. I sold it at a Gen Con auction and it got lost in the beauracracy of the con (*&^@#$@*&%) TSR, yeah this is before WOTC took it over. Anyway, I even had a copy of Greyhawk, (which actually told very little about the world of Greyhawk as I recall) Personally I was impressed by the C&C collectors box, which does not mention the -4 rule for inapropriate weapons, only has 4 classes (I gather the PHB has more) even the hard sharp dice (which remained in the box rather than entering my dicebag.) anyone who has played D&D (in any incarnation) for sometime could probably get started with C&C in about 5 minutes. I was set to run a pick up game at the con I got it at but never got the group together, due to other obligations. Still it's a much more welcome addition to my gaming library than D&D 3.5
