Converted from Phorums BB System
The reviewer (possibly intentionaly) left out one of the most important aspects of purchasing Andromeda 2500: the use of free supplements provided on the website. While there is a vague reference to this in the review, the reality is that there are a multitude of excellent resources provided online, including campaign adventures (which other games require you to purchase) as well as more detailed information on the various aspects of the game, quick reference charts, etc.
By evaluating the website, it is obvious that Earwicker is not living in the past as others have described. Though he may be using a gaming system similar to those more popular a couple decades ago, he is not hunched over in some cave rolling dice by candle-light. Rather, he has made an attempt to use current technology to work hand-in-hand with a classic gaming system.
Perhaps the only poor decision made in this context are the crappy sketches. These crudely drawn "illustrations" don't seem to be much more than the product of yet another failed artist passing off thick smudges as viable art.
I say bump up those '2s' to '3s'. Earwicker has a lot of room to grow, but at least he has the opportunity to do so, whereas other games provide such limited suffocating environments that they eliminate the opportunity for those possessing creativity to use it.
