Converted from Phorums BB System
I'd have to say I tend to agree that using Earwicker, vs the author, given the nature of some of the comments, did seem to get a little personal in nature, although I didn't get the idea that Conan meant it that way.
I have played this game and having enjoyed Paladium systems for many years, I enjoyed the the game quite a bit. I think the reviewer mis-interpreted the character creation aspect of the game, my interpretations was all players recieved bio-engineering, which allowed them to benefit from one of several "power types".
Of those power types, I thought the bionic's section was one of the most original sections of the book, and felt that it was very well thought out. I thought the physical adepts were by far the most powerful combinations and the magic/psionic types had some very original abilities.
I agree with the reviewer that the system could have benefited from further streamlining before final publication, but overall I give the book high points for creativity and originality.
I consider it a good option for those wishing to depart from d20 based systems and delve into a science fiction universe that has had substantial thought put into scientific plausability (with a twist of fantasy to spice things up).
