In Conan the Warrior, Beyond the Black river, the picts are described "The picts are a white race, though swarthy, but the border men never spoke of them as such"pg 167.
they are described as swarthy, broad shouldered short and muscular with black hair and are described in The Treasure of Tranicos as using copper axes and daggers.
I am not much of a Conan purist and do not know if these stories were completely Howards creation or if they were finished by De camp or Carter.
