DnD Writing - i was including the novels too, rather than just the game materials, but i haven't really seen much improvements between 2nd ed. and D20.

DnD on D20 - Meh, i'm not going to get started on that one, regardless of how well the writing has improved.

Lethality - BL isn't that kind of game. The system doesn't work against you like that. Bad dice happen in every game, but the percentages in BL are pretty fair. Sure, if you screw up, you'll probably take hits, but if you're smart, you won't die. Bad dice in BL usually means having to do things the hard way, rather than all nice and quiet like.

Irony and Hyperbole - Just more proof that sarcasm doesn't work over the internet. My bad.

Superheroes - What? i love superheroes. Batman racks, esp the Dark Knight series. Spiderman is pretty cool too. And they qualify because they can die, they do get injured. But that isn't really on topic....
