Actually, it is handled individually for each defender. The Attacker doesn't carry his KARMA bonus over. Which is how it is handled in the example. His core successes are handled the same for each attack, but he has to bid karma for each defender individually.

You don't combine the successes then work it out from there.

You are referring to the sweep attack - which is a special case - multiple targets using a single move.

Page 159 explains multiple targets when using a sequence. Which is how I handled it - correctly.
