Converted from Phorums BB System

Level-less, but there are prerequisites for various ability advances so it's a lot more structured than many pure skill systems are.
>>Do characters advance using experience points?<<
Yes. In general (with some exceptions) an "advance" costs 100xp. In WFRP2 this amounts to a 5% increase in your attribute, a new skill, or a new talent. The advances you're normally eligible for come from your current career. Your career has an advance scheme, which indicates how you can advance your char. WFRP2 advance schemes are rather better balanced than WFRP1's.
>>How do they improve (advance in caeers)?<<
You get a new advance scheme by switching careers. Careers generally have a number of requirements to enter and also have different exits. The typical WFRP character will go through several careers in the course of a campaign. The names indicate--more or less--what your profession is, though this should be taken with a grain of salt since your "real" profession is "adventurer."

In this sense it's not all that different from D20 games that have base classes and various Prestige Classes with entry requirements.
