generally how experience is awarded is up to the GM. the book includes some guidelines on how to do this - i think the recommended is something like 100xp per 3-4 hours of game play, but other GMs might prefer awarding for progress through the adventure regardless of time. i used to award a base ~100xp per session and then give pcs bonusses for every good idea or act of heroism ... wfrp doesn't really work as a hack'n'slash game because combat is really quite deadly ...
