Got it 3 days after it came out (damn mail), and I've already played in 1 campaign and started writing my own so I've poured through the book and experienced some sessions first hand.

I have to admit, the first thing I said was "Wow...that's quite a reduction!?", followed by, "Why is the bestiary all of 8-9 pages long..and most of that is just a quick reference for thugs and rogues!". My favorite was when I realised that the Giant and Troll slayers are screwed for first timers seeing how there are no stats for either monster.

That being said, I don't have a problem with them churning out a bunch of different books to keep the cash flow rolling, it's just that these books seem required. I'd buy the bestiary either way as they plan on puttting alot of species content in their, but I don't like the feeling that I'd have to or convert all my old stuff for continuity. Another example is Realms of Sorcery. I can't wait, I'm sure it will be awesome, but uhh...I think color school magic with only 8 spells and some petty stuff is going to get pretty boring unless I find all the new tentacles and demon summoning very fullfilling =)
