From what little I saw of the first edition, I think you've got an interesting background, but...
It's another one of those 'constrained' Universes, where most of the powers come from a rather narrow selection of sources!

As someone who kind of likes Superhero teams that feature Gods, Aliens, Detectives, and the occassional guy with a Bow and Arrow, I'd rather use something like 'The Godsend Agenda' as a subplot, and not "The Way Things Have to Be!"...
