The Old World, depicted in WH & WHFRP is what makes it such a great game. It is at once familar enough and fantasic enough to provide one of THE best FRPG worlds ever.

As another points out, it's depiction to the fatalistic view of life, during the late mediveal period is wonderfuly well done, as is the world as a whole.

Quite a breath of fresh air when compared to all the High Fantasy drivel pumped out, in games like D&D.

My only complaints about the the 2nd edition rules they way they are putting them in such a piece meal fashion, for maximum profits, where as the 1st edition
rules had everything in one book. I all was disppointed to see that much of the "background" material in edition 1 was cut from ed. 2 "Core book".

That said, I am overjoyed that WHFRP still survives, I am sick of a hobby that has been taken of over by the bloated D20 rule system.
