Yeah, I'm pitching in with the "they couldn't possibly include all of this in one book while trying to make a full-fledged RPG that isn't 450 pages long" camp where the Bestiary is concerned. Having played the wargame for about three years, I've seen at least two dozen different players and none of them played the exact same army, even the Dwarf players and the High Elf so-and-sos. Plus, the wargame is the source material for the RPG - the wargame has twelve separate army books, not counting the dozens of supplemental lists, like the Cult of Slaanesh (a daemonic Dark Elf army) and WAAAGH! Grimgor (Lots and lots of big, powerful Orcs) from the Storm of Chaos book or the all-Gnoblar army (just what it sounds like) and Lizard Sacred Hosts (Lizardmen armies spawned by specific Old Ones) armies from various White Dwarfs. And this isn't counting the insane number of index lists that appear in the backs of army books.

So yeah. I knew they couldn't possibly include all this stuff in one book and I'm not annoyed. Most of the stuff in the core book is ideal for just-starting-out campaigns, like generic Skaven, Greenskins and Undead, with enough variety of Daemons for a good low-rent Dracula-with-Daemons-type mission. Since the Witch and Vampire Hunter, not to mention the Slayers, are usually advanced and/or very rare careers, there's no big hurry to get lots of background on Trolls and Giants. Plus I wouldn't want to see the Skaven oddities or bonecracker monsters shorted just because Black Industries needed to cram more monsters into the core book's Bestiary - entries like River Trolls, Jezzails and Minotaurs need to be expanded.

What I'm wondering is whether they'll make a Rest Of The World Bestiary, since I don't think they'll have included every possible Warhammer monster in the Old World book. Plus, the Old World isn't the only area in Warhammer. I want to see what they'll do about the East, especially the Chaos Dwarfs and nomadic Greenskin hordes, and the New World, particularly Chameleon Skinks.
