I too am tired of all the ranting about it not being a complete game. You have everything you NEED to play in the core book. Some people are more than willing to fill in the blanks in the setting detail to make the game world their own. For those that want more "official" material there will be a supplment with that. Do you want more monsters? If so, then the Beastiary is for you. If GW/BI/GR had decided to pack all that info into the core book and consequently priced it at $100, how many copies would they sell? Okay then.

You can't blame them for intentionally designing a book that leaves you wanting more. They are in business to make money after all. Furthermore, from the looks of the Beastiary, they've tried to make it appealing to a wider audience than just GMs. I'd be willing to bet they do that with the setting book too. That translates into more book sales.

So please stop already with the cries of "incomplete". It is NOT incomplete. Neither is it comprehensive. However, you have everything you need to start playing right away with just the core book and can pick and choose which, if any, supplements you want to pick up later. We can have a seperate arguement about which supplements are "essential" since that's just a matter of opinion too.
