Where the book *does* suffer from bad (or greedy) design is in providing career choices that are unplayable "out of the box" as it were, namely the Slayers. Yes, you can play a Troll Slayer without ever coming up against a Troll, but it's a bit crap, isn't it?

The Bestiary may be lovely, but to make it near-essential in order to use the main book is a bit of a swindle.

They should put the Troll, Giant, etc profiles up on their website so that people who just have the core book can, you know, use it.

Part of me thinks that they're gambling on the idea that most WFRP2 players will already have WFRP1 and will use the stats from that until they get the Bestiary...
