Well I wouldn't say that, but I understand the sentiment. I think it's got a lot of bells and whistles, though, and the more of these there are in a game the slower things will tend to go for most groups--even ones that are competent at mental arithmetic and know the D20 system fairly well. I could see lots of ways to make something "feel" Conan with the D20 system under the hood, but one of the first things I'd do is strip out a lot of the extras.
IMO, if I were to run Conan, I'd use a lot of the info out of this book but probaby use Adventure! for the ruleset. Heck, swords and sorcery is essentially a pulp genre after all.... There'd be some adaptation needed, but nothing disastrous for the PCs--most of the Daredevil stuff carries over directly. Magic would be a bit trickier but doable. (As an aside, I think the magic system in Conan OGL is just spiffy.)
