Converted from Phorums BB System

Apology not required.
I am not an EPT fan, I'm an EPT devotee. There is no need to apologise for a review that is clear, concise, and for the most part, well phrased.
There are things in the GOO book that need to be covered because it is a gaming book, and things that need to be covered because it is Tekumel.
I am acutely aware of the problems that arise when one tries to turn a huge stack of notes into a working, breathing game system. And I'm talking about 1975, when every game system had to interface with D&D or die on the vine.
EPT has had at least ten different game templates placed over it--some very successful, others not so.
The GOO book does much to capture the true flavor of the world, but game mechanics are game mechanics, and some of the best ones may not quite come together.
Most players who are looking for Tekumel have found it in this book; those who are looking for a fast-paced dungeon crawl may have to wait for the D20 version.
No apologies offered. Read the book; judge for yourself. When I have problems with game mechanics in a book, I modify them until they work for me. Otherwise, I have no problems with TEKUMEL. But even I look forward to a D20 version.
Regards,
Brian at the Door of Shadows
