I like the idea of a loosely-structured magic system. I always thought that spell-lists limit the power of wizards. However, in literature, they are almost always portrayed as people that no one messes with. To me, a normal fighter shouldn't be able to take on a mage without plenty of help. Also, I'm a big Dr. Strange fan, so the idea of players making up their own spells and incantations is really neat. I think AMBER had some of this too, but it was truly free-form.

This game sounds very interesting. I'm a fan of the books and movies you mentioned, especially Gates of Fire. Thanks!
