True20 has done incredibly well on RPGNow. In the month since release it's gone Gold, been the best-selling product for July for the last couple of weeks, and reached #3 in the top 50 best-selling non-d20 products of all time (the pdfs of Blue Rose, the parent game, don't make that list at all).

(I tend to think that the d20/non-d20 distinction in RPGNow's stats is getting less useful as time goes on. Allowing products like this that are d20 in all but technicality hurts publishers of other games in the rankings, which after all are basically a marketing tool. But that's another story.)

Anyway, it's very successful. But if you look at the Green Ronin website frontpage, they're pretty much hiding it away. You'd think it would at least have a link as a significant item in the catalogue. Perhaps this tells us something about sales levels of print vs pdf. I also suspect that it's done rather better than they expected, and they've been taken a bit by surprise. I think the pdf was intended as a feeler to gauge interest for a possible print edition, not as a main selling plank for the company that would have justified more polishing time. But now it's made them a few thousand dollars revenue.
