Yeah, that's how I like my FUDGE as well.
FUDGE's default configuration of distinct categories of skills and attributes always felt weirdly over-specific--like some GURPS DNA had contaminated the FUDGE batter or something.
Not that it can't be done away with, of course, but it feels like an odd choice.
