This is not a future setting. The year is - as close as I can reckon - 1880'ish or there about. The US civil war I referred to is the US civil war So it is "Western" in time period as well as feel (IMO).
Really? The impression I got from the web site's description of the setting was that the disaster pretty much knocked humanity back to the Stone Age for a long while before it was able to drag itself back up to something resembling the Victorian period.
