Fair enough.

This does not give me the "Dark Tower" vibe BTW. It a bit different. Not as grandiose/epic IMHO.

Well you could say the same thing about Rolemaster vs D&D3.5ed. or MegaTraveller vs StarFrontiers or Aftermath vs GammaWorld etc. Doesent make any one of these game worse per say.

I would not argue the principle however. Yes it has some of that feel. The difference is this is a bit more "adult" You get at PC creation, a Vice like whoring or Opiumsmoking or fist fighting etc and it has an important mechanical and roleplay effect in the game. Yes these options where available in Deadlands too but not often taken here it’s mandatory.
The horror is different too.
