I picked up Champions and Fantasy HERO way in advance of actually buying the main HERO book, so I'd agree with Carmen. It sounds pretty useful for other games.

That said, the HERO Sidekick is available on RPGnow for only $7, and is about as much of a corebook as you probably need if you're running Pulp HERO, from what I've heard.
