Most cursing works only because the cursed person allows it to in any case. A good dramatic curse with as many flowery descriptions of doom just serves to concentrate the imagination somewhat. Then, when something nasty DOES happen, the cursed individual is meant to remember being cursed and think "ahhh so that's why I'm having this bad luck" often this is compounded by the fact that people will blame anything, anything at all if it means they can avoid blaming themselves. Not always the case mind.

Anyway, I've had a pretty good morning so far, managed to pick up three very interesting books (well, ok they are foreign language dictionaries but I think they are interesting) got to work on time no problem, I have Mongolian chicken sandwiches for lunch and my contract looks like being extended beyond Christmas after all, which I really wasn't expecting. So nope, I don't feel cursed. Perhaps it hasn't reached me yet 'cause of the distance it has to travel

*EDIT* PS, isn't threatening other members of RPGNet against policy? And does this apply to inferred supernatural/psychological threat?
PPS it is more usual to end an entreaty to Satan with 'Nema' (amen backwards), Io Evahe, or some other anagramatisation of the word Iehovae (latin version of Jehova / YHWH / Yahweh) in mockery of god. Man, I even have to give the wannabe satanists tips...
