I can assure you that none of the writers involved are in a backwoods militia. I'm curious how you came to that conclusion.

That bit was put in because gamers in general tend to view mental illness as amusing, or worthy of ridicule. The old "FishMalk" WoD gamers come to mind. At the time I was writing this book, half of my friends were being diagnosed and treated with various levels of depression/anxiety-related problems (and I was going through a rough spot myself). Perhaps I was just being oversensitive.
