Hmm. I can understand your feelings, but I think you're drawing an association based so strongly on a personal experience that I don't think it can really be considered a fair criticism of the book: "X says Y and X says Z. A also says Y, so A also implies Z."

To give you an example, it seems like taking offense at a discussion of hypodermic needle sterilization techniques because you heard heroine addicts talking about the subject.
