Well, if you look at BLAME! from a certain side, and maybe squint a little, it actually becomes about a lone hero who goes out into the desolate world to find the think that could save mankind in general and "his" community in particular. (Think about the first issue, where we meet the girl with no arms. While Killy doesn't seem to attached to her or the people she represents, I've always had the impression that they are, in a way, his origin, at least in Meatspace.)
From this direction, Autobots doesn't seem such a bad fit, don't you think?

I can see either autochthon-flavoured-Blame! or Blame!-flavoured-autochthon being workable. In fact, I think the style of Blame! matches up far better to the Exalted system than the style of Exalted. Stunts would translate well, especially the "2 dice for interacting with the environment".
|
Well, yrah, it would work, but I certainly wouldn't use the regular Exalted system. It's mainly an issue of taste (Exalted combat is just too boring and slow for me.) and incompatible players. (Of the people I'd game with, only one actually reads rules, while the rest are either too lazy or not interested in this part of teh game. Which I can understand, actually.)
I'd probably use Wushu.

I suppose the PCs would be heroic mortals, Killy-style, with a couple of unique over-the-top advantages. Being atuned to a powerful alchemical artifact, access to protocols (alchemical sorcery) and maybe a charm or two all seem appropriate (though not all for the same character).

Hmm, dunno. Killy certainly seems tougher then a typical Heroic Mortal, if only because he's virtually unkillable.
Not to mention that somebody with his origin shouldn't be a simple HM. |
One could build him at any Exalted level, but I wouldn't rate him any lower than High-Inheritance God-Blooded.

One of the white-wolf quarterlies had a very descriptive extract from the book - an evocative description of the six elemental poles and the environments to be expected there. You might find something there to help make your mind up.

Hmmm, will look into that, thanks.

Do tell more about your ideas though - a thread in open maybe?

Maybe. I actually thought about opening one to ask how usefull this book would be for somebody who'd only use it as inspiration, without actually using the rules.
