I dunno. I'm not a print buyer. I understand that the distributors and/or the shops think it'd be significant, however. And if that's true, that's what matters.

An in-house cost, and largely an unavoidable one. Good sales will hopefully cover it.
If enlarging the book kills sales disproportionately, that kills the book as a commercial proposition.
