If you want to call a straight definition of terms "condescending" please be my guest. I'm not here to compare dick sizes with anybody. If someone asks a question about RandomAnime that I feel merits a thorough answer, I give one.
Considering that "sempai" is more widely used in anime and in the Japanese language in general to describe mentors, role models, and people with greater knowledge or ability; regardless of their actual professional roles; I believe we made the right stylistic decision.
Whether or not the choice of names for the three Anime Realms was a good decision is a lot more subjective. The use of those terms has turned some people off, though many others have no problem with them. The text does clearly spell out the difference between how the terms are used in anime and how they apply to the game's mechanics.
