Three: I have MS. I actually lost the ability to type for several months. I still don't have much sensitivty or coordination in the fingers. Dice require little coordination.

Personally, I have little trouble with 'gimmicky' provided it adds something to the game. Usually it doesn't (although I don't think this applies to Dread, as it actually is a different mechanism. I just don't like the mechanism. I'm not bothered by the fact it is 'gimmicky').
When it comes to dice, I play Other the Edge, which only uses d6's, so I don't think polyhedral dice are particularly necessary. Having said that, I really appreciate the existance of being able to roll percentile dice, but d6 and d100 are about the only dice I really see the need for.
Well, those are some pretty good reasons. (And I didn't mean to imply you were against the gimmick - the "aside for everyone else" really was for everyone else.)

I wrote a movie! It's going to be on TV! “Family”, starring Renee Humphrey (Mallrats) and Boyd Kestner (Blackhawk Down, Hannibal), and written by yours truly, will be on Lifetime Movie Network (not Lifetime Channel, FYI) on Sunday, Jan 25 at 8am.

It’s a psycho-thriller about an escaped convict who gets hitches a ride with a cop and his son. Throw in a trunk-full of money, some old accomplices, insanity and a body count. Mix. Add popcorn.
