I think this timeline was from the 1st edition and was probably left out of the 2nd edition for space considerations. The Foundationists and Children of the Metal Gods supplements both have really good timelines that flesh out the game world.

Ah, yes, that's it. I first heard it mentioned on RPGnet Open, but I knew I'd read the official version <u>some</u>where. And just skimming my own PDF copy, I don't see the history there, either.
