Perhaps 'bell curve' was the wrong phrase, but when WillyPete says that Damage Save doesn't work well with the rule of 1 or 20, it gets to my point.
As to "It's not as good as HERO, but you won't notice unless you're l33t': I believe it was another poster who said "I can play M&M cold and stupid. I can't do that with HERO. M&M wins." If not having to go through the learning curve is a sign of superiority, M&M is superior. M&M certainly does a good job of getting the game concepts across, especially in the 2nd edition. I said flat-out I prefer HERO. I also gave reasons why one would prefer M&M to HERO, or vice versa. For one, M&M Green Ronin presents its material better.
