I just wanted to add to the chorus of "me toos" a little bit. This was a great review. It was exceptionally good because it does a good idea of why you might either like or not like Heroquest.

I am not a fan of the game itself, but I think the mechanics are brilliant, which I think you captured very well in the review. The "masteries" system is great, and it is just the sort of thing that is seeking another system for me to properly fall in love with it.

Right now, the mechanics are all too similar to "dicing with death" from the old Talisman game for me to want to play the game.

So good job. I think you managed to please both the people who like and don't like the game.
