Their numbers are apparrently controversial-- other guides are not nearly as harsh-- but "very well" is a highly subjective concept.
Ken Hite mentions that ICv2 claimed the game died a dogs death, but C&GR ranked Fanpro as staying in place from last year ranking third in the market.

The problem is that publishers don't speak out about sales figures and the magazines base their figures on distribution and retailer reports. Those figures will not be taking into account direct sales and sales by distributors and retailers not associated with those magazines.

A better measure is the number of print runs and planned releases that make it to actual publication.

For SR4, it had reached a third printing and the 2006 line up of products is on the rise. The test will come in the actual delivery of product, which at the moment is looking healthy. I remain cautiously optimistic. Given the improvements to the system and the fact that there have been enough sales to justify three printings, I think that Shadowrun 4th has proven itself as a line that will survive.

Edit: A more recent ICv2 article ends up stating the opposite to their 2005 claim of a dog's death.

Fanpro's Fourth Edition has successfully re-invigorated the game with a streamlined, simplified, and integrated set of rules.
